Pygostolus otiorhynchi
A small (under 1 cm) pale orange braconid wasp.
Pygostolus falcatus is similar but is a bit darker.

Various habitats.
We are aware of records from May to July although the flight period may well be longer.
A parasitoid of adult weevils.
True status in Britain is difficult to determine due to lack of records.
Rarely recorded in our area. The Sapcote record of 30th May 2025 is believed to be the first for VC55 (Leicestershire and Rutland).
