Lasiomma seminitidum

Description

A typical slim-bodied anthomyiid. The thorax has darker stripes and the abdomen is grey-patterned. As with most flies in this family, identification involved examination of detailed features under a microscope. Males are best identified by examination of the genitalia.

Life History

Lasiomma species breed in bird nests, L. seminitidum being one of the earliest species to emerge in early March.
