Hypnoidus riparius
5-7mm. This broad click beetle is black but with a slight brassy reflection. The legs are pale yellow. The pronotum is transverse and widest above the hind angles. Fine yellow recumbent hairs are scattered over the elytra.
Often under debris in damp habitats.
Reasonably common and widespread but less so in the south of England.
