Glaucomaria rupicola var. rupicola
This is a crust forming lichen which is chalky white to pale grey, smooth but extensively cracked. Often characterised by a paler white rim to the thallus.
Found on siliceous rocks and walls.
All year round.
Widespread and fairly frequent, particularly in northern and western Britain.
Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland and particularly found in the Charnwood area.
