Erioptera squalida
Wing length: 7-9mm. An orange-brown species. The genus can be identified from the wing venation but the species ID requires examination of the genitalia.

Flood plains, near waterways.
Summer.
The larvae are adapted to to pierce the underwater air cells of marginal or aquatic plants such as Reed Sweet-grass.
Reasonably common and widespread in the lowlands.
Uncommon.
