Drosophila subobscura
3mm. Generally black but with a white under-abdomen. Arista with a few long hairs both dorsally and ventrally. The costal bristle index is 0.5 or slightly more. The wings are generally clear but with some subtle darkening in cells r1 and r2+3.
Many habitats but particularly around decaying fungi and plants, and also on tree sap runs.
Any month.
Generally common and widespread.
Uncommon but under-recorded.
