Delphacinus mesomelas

Description

A small planthopper associated with dry grasslands.  The vertex is obtusely pointed, and the frons has one median unforked keel throughout.  Males are dark with a pale band towards the end of the abdomen, and paler foreparts.  Females are pale all over.  Identification can be confirmed by dissection of male genitalia.
