A small Blastobasis species with a wingspan of 10 to 18mm.
Other Blastobasis species may appear similar and gen det is required for species identification.

New to Britain in 2008 it has since been recorded in several areas and may be becoming established.
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland where it was not recorded until June 2025.
