This page profiles the wildlife of the two Kibworth parishes combined. Kibworth Beauchamp is the larger village and lies to the south of Kibworth Harcourt, both lying in a beautiful rural part of south Leicestershire. The two parishes are bisected by the A6. Kibworth achieved national fame in 2010 when it was the focus of a six-part BBC historical documentary presented by Michael Wood.
The landscape around the villages is a patchwork of mainly arable fields. A golf course is located next to Kibworth Beauchamp and the Grand Union Canal runs along the southern parish boundary.

These red furry balls are found on wild roses, particularly dog Rose, and are 'galls' caused by a tiny wasp. The wasp grubs grow inside until mature when they leave to start the process again on another rose.
