Agrilus cyanescens
Length 4.5 to 7 mm. Sometimes known as the Metallic wood-boring Beetle, this species usually has a metallic blue-green appearance.
Sometimes associated with Honeysuckle.
Spring to autumn.
The larvae are found in Honeysuckle, where they live just under the bark, but will also use other hosts.
Uncommon in Britain though it seems to be increasing its range and numbers.
Rare in Leicestershire and Rutland. The Knighton specimen of 20th June 2015 is the first record of this species occurring in our area (VC55), but the species is increasing its range and has been recently discovered in both Warwickshire and Northants.
