Craspedosoma rawlinsii

Description

Quite a large (over 15 mm) millipede with eyes:  it is reddish brown with light mottling.

Habitat

Associated with woodland areas, particularly those with high humidity.

When to see it

All year round, but most records have been from the colder months.

UK Status

This species appears to be widely distributed across Britain and Ireland but is not common.

VC55 Status

Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland. The record from Bradgate Park on 10th November 2014 is only the second record for VC55.
