Rosy Woodlouse - Androniscus dentiger
The Rosy Woodlouse is small and only 6 mm long It is characteristically pink or orange in colour, with a yellow stripe along the midline of the dorsal surface, which divides in two towards the animal's tail. It has large eyes for its size and a granular exoskeleton.
Damp, shaded places such as under stones and logs in gardens, quarries and caves, especially in lime rich areas.
All year round.
Feeds on dead plant matter.
Fairly common and widespread in Britain.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
