Dry Rot - Serpula lacrymans
A resupinate annual crust, with a yellowish or olive brown wrinkled surface wih a thick white edge. Affected wood breaks up into brown squared sections, and loses structural integity.

Conifer trunks - but more often in buildings, where the mycelium can penetrate brickwork and cause serious damage to structural timbers and woodwork.
