Wild places in this area

The parish of Tugby and Keythorpe lies in the east of Leicestershire, near to the border with Rutland. It includes the village of Tugby and the land around Keythorpe Hall. The area includes some important woodland sites, including Tugby Wood.

A female Sparrowhawk photographed in Tugby. It shows behaviour called 'mantling', where the bird covers its prey with its wings and tail to hide it from potential rivals.
