Dolerus cothurnatus
Female 8-9mm. Male 7-8mm. Abdomen mostly red with a dark tip. Legs with some red. The mesonotum is black with prominent punctures on the mesopleura (see image). Males have long and sturdy antennae.
Where the larval foodplants of Water Horsetail and Marsh Horsetail are found.
May - July
Widespread but uncommon.
