Reuteria marqueti

Description

Dorsal surface white with blue-green spots; 1st antennal segment white with black stripe down the side, black base to 2nd antennal segment.  Femora pale green with darker spots and stripes. Wing membrane pale with darker marks and green veins.

Similar Species

Malacocoris chlorizans has a similar mottled green dorsal surface, but is apple green not blue green.

Habitat

Lime trees.

UK Status

A southern and central European species that is slowly spreading northwards; first recorded in Britain in 2006. (ref: Lars Skipper (2013), Danmarks blomstertæger).

VC55 Status

Rare.  The 2024 record in Loughborough is believed to be the first for VC55.
