Chlamydatus pullus

Description

A small (c.2.5mm) black bug with heavily spotted tibia.  Pale tip to end of femora, and hairs on tibia arise from black spots. 

Similar Species

There are several other small black bugs that are similar (see Halticus and other Chlamydatus species).

sparse grassland/bare ground with leguminous plants

Widely scattered (ref: UK checklist 2021 on British Bugs website)

VC55 Status

rarely recorded in VC55; may be overlooked due to small size
