Description
4mm. A glossy black beetle with a rounded profile and usually with obscure dark red markings in each elytra.

- With a gular lobe (a downward and forward pointing projection on the underside in front of the front legs)
- No depression on the pronotum
- Elytra with one subhumeral stria (=Margarinotus)
- Pronotum with one marginal stria
- Subhumeral stria runs along most of the elytral length
- Epipleura barely punctured
- Red patch on each elytra
