Tinocallis takachihoensis

Description

All adult Tinocallis takachihoensis viviparae are winged. These alates are pale yellow-green with a shiny black head and thorax. The pattern of black markings on the wings is diagnostic. Similar Species

Only Tinocallis platani has similar wing markings, but its body markings are quite different.

Habitat

May be found where Elm is present.

When to see it

May be observed when the host Elm is in leaf.

UK Status

First recorded in the wild in England in 2007, although it has also been found on imported Bonsai plants.

VC55 Status

Rarely recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
