Marasmiellus candidus

Description

The tiny whitish caps are convex when young with very thin flesh and a pleated apprearance. The gills are widely spaced and the whitish stem is taperered downwards, and blackish near the base, paler above.

Habitat

A wood-rotting fungus found in clusters on twigs, branches and standing dead trees in moist woodland and other well wooded areas.

When to see it

Summer to late autumn.

Widespread in England.
