Parking is available in the Donington le Heath Manor House car park when the site is open.
Bus numbers 15, 159 and 26 connect the site to Coalville, with a stop close to the Manor House.

Description

Created by Leicestershire County Council to provide a wildlife habitat and a greater area for visitors and local people to enjoy. The woodlands cover some 2.5 hectares. Over 6000 trees were planted including a variety of native trees and shrubs. The area is also criss-crossed with public footpaths. The project was funded by The National Forest Company.

Wildlife Highlights

The site comprises a young deciduous woodland, an attractive area of wildflower meadows, 2 ponds, bramble scrub and an interesting damp area near to the River Sence. There is also a regular butterfly transect around the site.
