Silky Rosegill - Volvariella bombycina

Description

The cap is rounded to conical, white or pale yellowish and covered in fine silky fibrils.  Gills are white, free, becoming brownish pink. The volva is initially white turning brown with age

Habitat

On standing dead wood, often emerging from knot holes or wounds.

June to October.
