Cerobasis guestfalica
Very small at about 2 mm long. Wingless, with a mottled abdomen and a characteristic 'anchor' mark on the head.
This species has a red ID rating and unless identified by a known expert you must provide a satisfactory explanation of how it was identified for the record to be accepted.
It has been found in a wide range of habitats.
June to September.
A few adults have been found to overwinter on or under bark.
Widespread and common in Britain.
Thought to be fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland.
