NatureSpot in 2019

Over the last few weeks we've been getting all the records submitted in 2019 sorted out. More...

  • Who - 244 recorders submitted 40,050 accepted records.
  • What - records submitted covered 3,749 "species" (includes varieties), grouped as 45 taxa. Birds are most frequently recorded, followed by moths and wildflowers, followed by a sharp drop to butterflies. Looking at the top 20 species recorded, 19 are birds (plus 7 Spot Ladybird).
  • When - As expected, records follow a seasonal pattern. Monday is the most popular day for recording (bank holidays?)
  • Where - The location of records is not even across the County, following the familiar Y pattern:
    Rutland Water - A47 - Leicester - Charnwood / M69

You can see all the details here (pdf).
