North Luffenham Roadside Verge
Selected Wild Place / Other Wild Places / Public Rights of Way / VC55 boundary
The verge is on Glebe Road, southwest of North Luffenham. The verge begins just north of the River Chater and ends at the railway. The closest main road is the A47. Exit northwards into Morcott, and turn onto Glebe Road from the High Street. The site starts 1.5 miles up the road.

Site species count:
Designated a Local Wildlife Site in 2014, the North Luffenham verge is located on the east side of Glebe Road, stretching for a length of 262 metres. The main habitats are calcareous, mesotrophic, and mixed grassland, and the site is reported to have a good range of limestone flora.
Recorded species include: Agrimony, Salad Burnet, Greater Knapweed, Wild Basil, Fairy Flax, Common Restharrow, Burnet-saxifrage, Black Knapweed, Meadowsweet, Meadow Vetchling, Common Bird’s-foot Trefoil, Meadow Buttercup, Autumn Hawkbit, Red Clover, and Hard Rush.
In addition, Many-leaved Sedge has been recorded in the verge (a species from the Leicestershire and Rutland Rare Plant Register).
