Rutland Water, Lyndon Reserve

The Lyndon Reserve lies on the southern shore of Rutland Water and is signposted off the Manton - Edith Weston road about a mile and half east of Manton. There is ample parking at the Visitor Centre.
The circular Rutland Water cycle track passes the Visitor Centre and runs through the eastern parts of the Reserve.

The Lyndon Reserve occurs along the southern shore of Rutland Water overlooking a reservoir sector referred to as South Arm 2 and also Manton Bay. A series of hides are available some with disabled access. Dogs on short-leads are allowed on the Reserve. The Visitor Centre is open daily from April to September and the principal attraction in spring-summer months are the breeding ospreys.
In summer breeding Ospreys are the main attraction and details are posted on noticeboard at the Visitor Centre (open April - September). The reserve has an active moth trapping group and many species rare to VC55 (Leics & Rutland) have been taken here. In winter months rare grebes, sea ducks, divers and winter swans.
