Contacyphon variabilis
A small brown marsh beetle. Length 3 to 4 mm.

Found mainly, but not exclusively in woodland, or in marshes and at poolside margins.
March to November.
Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.
Occasional in Leicestershire and Rutland.
