Help us to help you recording the wildlife of Leicestershire and Rutland.
NatureSpot is all about identification of wildlife based largely on photographic records. We have some excellent wildlife photographers in VC55 but most of them do not submit records to NatureSpot. Some groups of organisms are relatively easy to photograph, although capturing all the relevant features which will make identification possibly may not be so simple. Some groups are more challenging, and the obvious example are very small creatures. With this in mind, we've just started a new Photography section - you can find the link to this in the top menu bar. So far, it only contains one article, on Ultra-Macro Photography - photographing very small organisms.
In time we hope this will grow into a more comprehensive set of illustrated articles aimed at assisting photographic recording of wildlife. Can you contribute to this? Would you be willing to write an article in a particular group that you know well helping people to submit better records of wildlife in Leicestershire and Rutland? If so, please contact us and let us know.
