Lepidocyrtus violaceus
Lepidocyrtus violaceus belongs to the group of Lepidocyrtus with strong blue pigment on the head, thorax, abdomen and legs. The second thoracic segment is not prominent. There are scales on the legs and on the first and second segments of the antennae, but not on segments 3 and 4. English specimens rarely exceed 1.6 mm.
Moist habitats, under stones and logs, in leaf litter and moss etc.
All year round.
Little recorded but may be more common in Britain than records indicate.
Status in Leicestershire and Rutland not known.
