Nature Walk - Bats along the Brook
Knighton Park, Leicester LE2 3RT. Meet at the car park off Palmerston Way
Come and explore the nature in our city! With an expert guide and a small group of fellow walkers, learn about the living world that is all around us. Bats have inspired myths and stories and are both loved and loathed in folklore around the world. These mysterious creatures come out at dusk to hunt the flies hovering above the water, so healthy rivers = lots of insects = more bats. Using our bat detector we will also be able to listen to the bats as we watch them fly.
We will walk at a steady pace with frequent stops. A moderate level of fitness is required to walk and stand for up to 2 hours, sometimes on unpaved paths. Please check the weather forecast and wear clothing that will keep you comfortable during your walk.
This walk is free to attend but numbers are limited. Adults - please book your places. Booking is not required for children (under 16) but they must be accompanied by an adult.
If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel via Eventbrite or contact us on 0116 454 3947 (during office hours)so we can offer your place to someone else.
