Knighton Wild AGM & Updates

End time

Knighton Parish Centre, Church Lane, Leicester LE2 3WG

It's our first AGM for three years and we have a packed programme.  As usual the meeting will start with a short AGM and then we move on to the interesting stuff. All welcome, come and hear all the updates.

  • AGM business - we want to change from a subscription based membership to an email list system. We need to make a simple revision to the constitution and we also want to strengthen the committee. If you are interested in joining the committee email here - we meet about every 6 weeks and there is a small amount of work to do between meetings.
  • Greening Knighton Grants - we have £500 to give out in 4 or 5 small grants to green up open spaces in the area. We will be launching the grant at the AGM. Carisbrooke Rd Triangle is an example of a group of neighbours getting together to make a local green space more wildlife friendly.  Do you have an idea for a green space near you?
  • Water quality in the Washbrook - Alan Cann will give a brief talk about our investigations over the summer and what we now know about the quality of the Washbrook.
  • Borrowing wildlife equipment - we will have all the equipment that can be borrowed on display so you can find out how to use it.  Members have already used the trail cam and bat detector but the equipment is here to be used!
  • Works on the Washbrook on Knighton Green - we are hoping to be able to share more news about the works on the Washbrook watercourse as it runs through the Green.  If the weather is good we can have an exploratory walk.
