The species/taxa total displayed on the home page includes all the different taxa that have been recorded on NatureSpot. However note that a small number of these are genus only entries or aggregates so not strictly species.
Most of the recorded species/taxa have a dedicated feature page which can found through the galleries or by using the search. A small proportion of the recorded species/taxa do not have an image so these will not appear in the galleries, though they can be found using the search box.
The display also shows the number of records, number of species/taxa and the number of new species added to NatureSpot so far this year. This based on records submitted during the year and not the date of the record itself.
