Ringed Conecap - Conocybe arrhenii

Description

Convex with a broad central bump, smooth to finely wrinkled, margin lined, with veil remnants when young, orange brown, drying paler, to about 3 cm across. Gills are adnexed, pale orange brown. The stem is slightly expanded at the base, brown, with whitish scales, ring distinct and fleshy.

There are other very similar species in this genus which means that detailed examination of an actual specimen is generally needed to identify the exact species. A red box around the image indicates that we think it is likely to be this species but can't be 100% certain
