Opsius stactogalus

Description

A bright green hopper with a rounded vertex (face) associated with Tamarisk, 4-5mm.  The forewings may be marked with pale spots or may have a scatter of black dots.

Common in southern Britain along coast; also recorded inland and on cultivated tamarisk species (ref: British Bugs website; link below)

VC55 Status

Rare, the 2025 Whetstone record (from a light-trap) is believed to be the 1st VC55 record.
